Loading the driver over and over again is not going to restore the original functionality. ![]() I'm not a computer expert, but I can see that the advice being given by these experts is not helping, perhaps because the current HP driver has become corrupt by some part of the Windows operating system. ![]() Note that I did not delete anything or re-install the drivers. I haven't found a way to integrate this page back into the printer controls, but now I am able to scan as before. When I want to scan I just go to the HP Scan icon. The "HP Scan" icon now appears in my start menu, though I cannot explain how I did that. ![]() (Initially I was going to delete all these files!) I found a file entitled "HP Scan." When I clicked on that file, it opened the scan control page that went missing from the Printer Assistant! I searched my hard drive for anything related to HP. I'm not sure I can explain it, but here is what I did.
